- Tyrannosaurus Rex Tooth – Premaxillary
- Hell Creek Formation, ~68-66 million years old – Carter County, Montana, USA
- .88 inches long (2.24cm)
This is a nice little premaxillary tooth in good condition, down to the root. At .88 inches long it would have come from a juvenile T-rex. The enamel is in great shape and is a beautiful dark black color with a bit of tan. Due to the feeding wear, the serrations are faintly visible on one side.
This tooth is 100% original with no restoration, repair or filling.
The premaxillary teeth are the incisors of tyrannosaurs. Tyrannosaurus rex teeth of the Hell Creek Formation are easily identified due to the fact that T. rex is the only large tyrannosaur that occurs in the formation from that age.
