- Triceratops Toe Claw (Ungual)
- Hell Creek Formation, ~68-66 million years old – Garfield County, Montana, USA
- 3 inches x 2.5 inches x 1 inch
Here we have a really cool Triceratops toe claw bone. Identified by its relatively flattened appearance and thin edges, it also has well-preserved arterial holes on either side. It is mostly complete, and only a bit worn during pre-fossilization. A great addition to any collection!
This bone is 100% original with no filling or repair of any kind.
Although it might appear dangerous, Triceratops was actually a slow-moving herbivore that used its beak-like jaw and slicing teeth to pluck and chew tough plants that other dinosaurs couldn’t eat. It roamed in what’s now western North America during the Cretaceous period, living alongside the ferocious T-Rex.
