  • Triceratops Lower Beak
  • Hell Creek Formation, ~68-66 million years old – Powder River County, Montana, USA
  • Dimensions: 12″ x 7″

Very rare fossil!!  This lower beak would have come from an adult Triceratops.  Though it was a bit worn during its pre-burial life, the actual preservation of this fossil is phenomenal.  It clearly displays the deep blood vessel grooves, which are common on skull bones of ceratopsians.

Beautiful coloration and insane detail create a truly unique display piece, not many Triceratops beak fossils make it to the market.  Simply a must-have for Triceratops lovers and Hell Creek collectors, snap it up before it’s gone!!

This fossil is 98% original with only a small amount of restoration/filling, primarily to stabilize the structural integrity of the fossil.  It was collected in several pieces that have been reconnected with glue and epoxy putty.  See photos for before and after restoration.

Triceratops is a genus of chasmosaurine ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the late Maastrichtian age of the Late Cretaceous period, about 68 to 66 million years ago in what is now western North America. It was one of the last-known non-avian dinosaurs and lived until the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event 66 million years ago. The name Triceratops means ‘three-horned face’.
