- Theropod Finger Bone (unknown species)
- Hell Creek Formation, ~68-66 million years old – Carter County, Montana, USA
- 1.19 inches long
This is a very well-preserved theropod toe bone from an unknown species. Long and slender, this bone definitely came from a dino hand rather than a foot. Probably identifiable by someone who wants to take up the challenge of discovering the ID.
This finger bone is 100% original with no restoration or filling. It has been stabilized.
Theropoda, whose members are known as theropods, is a surviving dinosaur clade that is characterized by hollow bones and three toes and claws on each limb. Theropods are generally classed as a group of saurischian dinosaurs.
