- Hadrosaur Tooth Fragment (duck-billed dinosaur)
- Judith River Formation, ~79-75 million years old – Montana, USA
- .85″ long (2.15cm)
This is an unerupted/unworn hadrosaur tooth. It is completely unworn and has a large portion of the root still attached. Nice rich dark brown coloration. Slight damage to the root on one side.
This tooth is 100% original with no restoration or filling. It was cracked on the back but has been glued.
Hadrosaurs or duck-billed dinosaurs were plant eaters that had large jaws with what are called “dental batteries”. These dental batteries contained hundreds of teeth in dozens of channeled columns, when one tooth is worn down enough it eventually falls out of the jaw and is replaced by a new unworn tooth.
