- Hadrosaur Tooth Fragment (duck-billed dinosaur)
- Judith River Formation, ~79-75 million years old – Montana, USA
- .38″ long (1.3cm)
This top half of a beautiful hadrosaur tooth has great preservation. Nice deep, rich brownish coloration. This tooth would have come from a large juvenile hadrosaur.
This tooth is 100% original with no restoration or filling. Slight damage around the edges.
Hadrosaurs or duck-billed dinosaurs were plant eaters that had large jaws with what are called “dental batteries”. These dental batteries contained hundreds of teeth in dozens of channeled columns, when one tooth is worn down enough it eventually falls out of the jaw and is replaced by a new unworn tooth.
