Tyrannosaur tooth (Daspletosaurus, Albertosaurus, or Gorgosaurus)

Availability: In stock

  • Tyrannosaur Tooth (indeterminate tyrannosaur: Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Daspletosaurus)
  • Judith River Formation, ~79-75 million years old – Chouteau County, Montana, USA
  • 1.62 inches (4.11cm)

This tooth is nearly complete down to the root, it displays great serrations, stunning enamel, and has a small amount of interesting feeding wear on the tip.  It would have come from a large juvenile or sub-adult tyrannosaur.

This tooth is 100% original with no restoration/filling, it has been repaired, broken sections have been glued back together.

Tyrannosaur teeth of the Judith River Formation can originate from one of three tyrannosaur genera: Albertosaurus, Daspletosaurus, or Gorgosaurus.  Because these three genera lived in similar areas and around similar times, and teeth of these three animals are nearly identical, the proper way to describe the identity of an individual isolated tooth found within the formation is to call it an “Indeterminate or Undetermined Tyrannosaur.”
