- Ornithomimid Toe Claw (Ungual)
- Hell Creek Formation, ~68-66 million years old – Carter County, Montana, USA
- 1.86 inches
Here we have a really cool Ornithomimid toe claw bone. Identified by its relatively straight and pointed appearance. This would have come from either Ornithomimus or Struthiomimus. It is fully complete, and only a bit worn during pre-fossilization. A great addition to any collection!
This bone is 100% original with no filling or repair of any kind, it has been stabilized with consolidant.
Most commonly referred to as ostrich-mimic dinosaurs, Ornithomimids were cursorial, omnivorous or herbivorous dinosaurs known mainly from the Late Cretaceous Period of Laurasia (now Asia and North America). For more information about Ornithomimids visit this link: Ornithomimids.
